Path to Azure Data scientist associate exam DP-100 in 2022
How I passed the Azure Data Scientist Associate (DP-100) exam: the learning path that worked, the material worth your time, and what it tests.
For the last two years working with Azure at my workplace, It was my internal desire to get certified as a data scientist in Azure platform with the motive of brushing up my skills and knowledge in Azure. Despite the deadlines and work projects, It was way harder, even to start with the course. After waiting for 2 years of time, following would be the journey of myself getting certified as a Azure Associate Data Scientist within a scope of two days!
On a Friday night after work, with the of thought of finishing up the course got myself visited the website click here! After visiting in, two options could be seen to be proceed with as,
- Online free learning
- Instructor-led
Got myself with online free learning option and they have a well-structured 4 learning paths which is very easy to begin with. Step by step learning path will carry you towards the end of the learning course without any hassle.
Benefit of this path was that, after completion of each learning path, there will be a simple exercise to perform.
Got myself managed to answer those correctly and if there’s anything missing out, you can get through the learning path again, study bit hard and come back to take up the exercise.
Following would be the personal experience with the learning path.
Learning Path
- Create machine learning models: Few questions were asked about coding sdk and how it has to be presented Ex: how to make a dataset to pandas data-frame, coding and using clusters etc.
- Explore visual tools for machine learning: From this avenue, there were very limited questions and the learning path was easy for myself as it used the designer view.
- Build and operate machine learning solutions with Azure machine learning: This was the most hard path, out of the entire exam. There were quite a lot of questions asked from the learning path and also make sure that you follow the exercises precisely to get yourself proper experience. It will not limit towards theory but also on coding simultaneously. About pipelines, data drift, SDK use was questioned.
- Build and operate machine learning solutions with Azure Databricks: There were very limited questions asked from this area but questions were presented with regarding to coding.
When following every learning path make sure that you carry out make notes, exercises and keep a track of what was done, whilst keeping more focus on hard areas. So, aftermath got managed to finish two learning paths on a single day and other two areas on the following day.
After completion of both areas, got myself registered for the exam on the second day it self. Self Registered for the examination via Pearson and scheduled it in the night whilst everyone goes to bed!
There were few checklist do be followed before the examination
• Make sure to make yourself well prepared, carry out the exercises and further looking into any short notes if available.
• You should have a closed room and should check-in for the examination before 20 to 30 minutes.
• You should have a passport or any other government certified document to prove your identity.
• Your laptop should be occupied with a web camera and a microphone which works well.
• There should not be any material on the table.
• No one can possibly enter into the room during the course of examination.
After an hour of completion, I got my examination certification and badge online. So, all the best to you, next Azure associate data scientist who is reading this right now.
Comment down below, if I missed anything and hit the clap button if you feel this is useful. also thank you Hansa Perera for the guidance and Sahan Attygalle for every help.
Good luck!
